Each of the remaining competitors will get three more throws as they contend for the medals.

On his third try, Neeraj Chopra fails.

Neeraj’s third try, which just about cleared the 80-meter barrier, wasn’t good enough. He chose not to log the throw and stepped out as a result.

On his second try, Neeraj Chopra makes his second-best throw of his career, propelling him into second position.

On his second try, Neeraj Chopra of India made a comeback by posting a season-best score of 89.45m to tie Arshad Nadeem for second place. In addition, after his 89.94-meter throw at the Stockholm Diamond League, it is his second-best career throw.

After his throw, the reigning Olympic champion gestured to the crowd, telling them to settle down. He has given off the impression of being sharp, and he will be eager to improve on that performance in the next throws.

At the end, Arshad Nadeem throws more over 90 meters, setting a new Olympic record.

In the men’s javelin throw final, Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem blasted a massive 92.97 meters to take the lead and create an Olympic record! With a time of 90.57 meters in Beijing 2008, Danish athlete Andreas Thorkildsen held the previous Olympic record.

The silver medallist from the World Championships becomes the fourth athlete to reach the 90-meter mark in the men’s javelin throw final at the Olympics.

Olympics javelin throw final rules and how it works

Only the top 12 athletes from the 32-person qualification field advanced to the final. The javelin throwers qualified if they were among the top 12 athletes or if they met the direct qualification requirement of 84 meters.

Each of the twelve competitors will get three throws in the final, and their scores will be determined by their best effort. The four competitors at the bottom will be eliminated after the first three throws, and the remaining competitors will get three more throws apiece.

The top three competitors with the best throws at the conclusion of the six throws will place on the Olympic podium.
